Tour Overview
This Sharm El Sheikh desert safari packs the best of the Sinai desert into one afternoon and evening. After a short drive from your hotel you get a safety briefing and helmet, then follow the guide on your own quad bike along sandy tracks between granite mountains, stopping for photos along the way.
At the Bedouin camp you swap the quad for a camel for a short ride, drink sweet Bedouin tea and watch the sun go down over the mountains. Dinner is a simple BBQ buffet with rice, salads and bread, followed by an evening show with oriental dance, a Tanoura whirling dancer and fire performers.
It is a shared tour with other guests, so the pace and route are set for the group. No experience is needed to ride a quad; the guide keeps a steady speed. The desert is dusty and can be cold after dark in winter, so dress accordingly.

Itinerary
14:30 – Hotel pickup
A shared air-conditioned minibus collects you from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh; the time depends on your hotel and the season and is confirmed the day before. The drive to the safari centre on the edge of the desert takes around 20 to 30 minutes.
15:15 – Quad bike ride
Receive a helmet, a scarf if needed and a short lesson on the controls. Then ride in a line behind the guide for about an hour through the desert, with photo stops among the rocks and dunes. Riders who want a calmer pace can share a quad with a partner.
16:30 – Camel ride and Bedouin tea
At the Bedouin camp, take a short camel ride of around 15 minutes, led by a handler. Afterwards sit in the tent with tea cooked on an open fire and hear a little about how Bedouin families have lived in Sinai for generations.
17:30 – Sunset and dinner
Watch the sun set behind the mountains, then sit down to a BBQ buffet dinner with grilled chicken, rice, salads, bread and dessert. Soft drinks and water are included; other drinks and shisha can be bought at the camp.

18:45 – Evening show and return
The evening ends with oriental dance, a Tanoura whirling dancer in a colourful skirt and a fire show. You are driven back to your hotel, arriving around 20:00 to 20:30.
Good to know: Timings move with the seasons so that you always see the sunset. Quad riders must be at least 16 to drive alone; younger children ride with an adult.

Do I need experience to drive a quad bike?
No. Quads have automatic gears and you get a short lesson before setting off. The guide rides in front at a steady pace and the group stays together. If you prefer not to drive, you can share a quad with a partner or friend and ride as a passenger.
Is the safari suitable for families?
Yes. Children can ride with a parent on a quad, and the camel ride, camp and show are popular with all ages. Drivers must normally be 16 or over. Children under 6 are free and ages 6 to 11 pay half price.
What should I wear?
Light, comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting dusty, closed shoes and sunglasses. A scarf helps keep sand out of your face, and a warm layer is useful for the evening, especially from November to March when the desert gets cold after sunset.
Is it private?
