Itinerary
09:00 – Hotel pickup
Your driver and guide collect you from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh in a private air-conditioned car, or a 4×4 for small groups if requested. Bring your passport or a copy, as the park and road checkpoints may ask to see it.
09:45 – Allah’s Gate and the park entrance
Stop for photos at Allah’s Gate, the large monument marking the entrance to Ras Mohamed National Park. Your guide explains why this small corner of Sinai is protected and how the reefs, desert and mangroves fit together.
10:15 – Mangrove channel and Magic Lake
Walk to a viewpoint over the mangrove channel, one of the northernmost mangrove stands in the world, then continue to the Magic Lake, a hypersaline lagoon whose colours shift between blue and green. Swimming is allowed here only when the park permits it.
11:00 – Beach snorkelling
Spend around two hours at a beach such as Marsa Bareika or Suez Beach. Snorkel from the shore over the reef with mask and fins provided, swim in the shallows or relax on the sand. Your guide picks the most sheltered beach for the day’s wind.
13:30 – Lunch and return
Leave the park and stop for lunch at a local restaurant, usually grilled chicken or fish with rice, salads and bread. You are back at your hotel around 15:00, depending on traffic and your hotel location.

Is this better than the boat trip?
It is different. The land tour is shorter, private and includes the mangroves and Magic Lake, which boats cannot reach. The boat trip reaches offshore reefs and White Island. If you get seasick or want flexibility, choose land; if snorkelling is your priority, the boat trip is usually better.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
No, but you should be comfortable in the sea. Beach snorkelling lets you start in shallow water and go only as far as you like. Tell your guide if you are nervous, and wear water shoes, as the reef edge can be sharp and the entry rocky.
Can we choose which beach to visit?
You can tell your guide your preference, and as it is a private tour the plan is flexible. The final choice depends on wind and waves, because a beach that is calm in the morning may be rough by midday, and park rangers can close beaches.
Is it suitable for children and older travellers?
Yes. The walking is short and on mostly flat ground, and the beach entry is gentle at most stops. Children should be supervised in the water and wear a life jacket if they are not confident swimmers. Children under 6 go free and ages 6 to 11 pay half.
