Tour Overview
This private Cairo by night tour shows a side of the city most visitors miss. Cairo comes alive after sunset, when the heat fades, families fill the corniche and the old streets of the Islamic quarter glow under lanterns. With your own guide and driver, you see the city from above, eat a proper Egyptian dinner, sail on the Nile and finish in the busiest bazaar in the Middle East.
You start at Cairo Tower on Zamalek island for the view over the river and the lit-up bridges, then sit down to dishes such as koshari, grilled meats, molokhia and fresh bread. A felucca, the classic wooden sailing boat, takes you out on the water for an hour, and the evening ends with a walk along Al-Muizz Street and through Khan el-Khalili, where shops stay open late.

Itinerary
17:30 – Hotel pickup
Your guide and driver meet you at your hotel in Cairo or Giza in a private air-conditioned vehicle. In winter the pickup can be a little earlier to catch the last light. The drive to Zamalek island takes 15 to 45 minutes, and your guide points out landmarks along the Nile corniche on the way.
18:15 – Cairo Tower
Take the lift to the observation deck of Cairo Tower, 187 metres tall and shaped like a lotus. From the top you see the whole city spread out in lights, the Nile and its bridges below, and the domes and minarets of Islamic Cairo to the east. Allow about 40 minutes.
19:15 – Egyptian dinner
Sit down for dinner at a popular local restaurant near the river. Your guide helps you order a spread of Egyptian dishes to share, such as koshari, stuffed vegetables, grilled kofta or chicken, salads and dips. Vegetarian choices are easy. Soft drinks and water are included with dinner; other drinks are extra.

20:30 – Felucca on the Nile
Board a private felucca for about an hour on the river. The boatman uses the evening breeze to sail between the lit-up banks, and the city noise drops away. On very still nights a small motor boat may tow the felucca. It is a calm, relaxing part of the evening and a favourite with couples.
21:45 – Al-Muizz Street and Khan el-Khalili
Finish in Islamic Cairo with a walk down Al-Muizz Street, lined with lit-up mosques and Mamluk buildings, into the lanes of Khan el-Khalili. Browse lamps, spices, perfume and silver, and stop for mint tea at a historic café. You are back at your hotel by about 23:00.
Good to know: Khan el-Khalili is busy and lively in the evenings, especially at weekends; keep valuables close. Felucca sailing depends on the wind.

What time does the tour start and finish?
Pickup is usually around 17:30, and you are back at your hotel by about 23:00. We can start earlier in winter to see the sunset from Cairo Tower, or later in summer when evenings are hot. Tell us your plans and we will adjust the timings.
Is dinner included, and can you handle dietary needs?
Yes, a traditional Egyptian dinner with soft drinks and water is included. Vegetarian and vegan food is easy to find in Egyptian cooking, and we can arrange gluten-free or allergy-friendly choices if you tell us when booking. Alcohol is not served at most local restaurants.
Is the tour suitable for children?
Yes. Children usually love the tower, the boat and the bustle of the bazaar. The tour finishes late, so younger children may get tired; we can shorten the bazaar walk or skip it. Children under 6 travel free and ages 6 to 11 pay half price.
Can we change the order or the stops?
Yes, the tour is private, so the evening can be adjusted. Some travellers swap the felucca for a longer bazaar walk or add the Al-Azhar Park viewpoint. Let us know when booking or tell your guide on the night, and we will make it work where possible.
