Tour Overview
This solo female Egypt tour is built for women who want to see the Pyramids, the Nile and the temples of Luxor on their own terms, with the reassurance of a carefully planned trip. It is not a women-only group. It is your own private tour, with your own Egyptologist guide and driver, and you set the pace. Over eight days you spend three nights in Cairo and four nights on a 5★ Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan, with transfers, entry tickets for the listed sites and domestic flights arranged in advance.
Egypt is a welcoming country, but travelling alone as a woman can bring extra attention, especially in busy markets. We plan around that. You can ask for a female Egyptologist guide, our drivers are vetted and known to us, and we choose central, well-run hotels where you can step out for dinner easily. Our local team is on WhatsApp throughout the trip, and your guide will happily handle bargaining, taxis and the small daily decisions so that you can simply enjoy yourself.
The single traveller price is the solo rate, with a private room throughout and the single supplement already built in. If you are travelling with friends, the lower rates for two or more apply when you share twin rooms. We also send honest dress advice before you go. Loose clothing that covers shoulders and knees works well at the sites and in town, a light scarf is useful for mosques, and swimwear is perfectly fine by the pool on the ship’s sun deck.

Day 1 – Arrive in Cairo
Our representative meets you in the arrivals hall at Cairo International Airport, holding a sign with your name, and helps with the visa desk if needed. Your vetted driver takes you to a central 4★ hotel, chosen so that cafés and restaurants are an easy walk away. In the evening your guide meets you in the lobby to go through the week, share local tips and make sure you have our WhatsApp contact number saved in your phone.
Meals: None
Day 2 – Pyramids, Sphinx & Saqqara
After breakfast you head to the Giza Plateau with your guide. You walk around the Great Pyramid of Khufu, see all three pyramids from the panoramic point and visit the Sphinx and its Valley Temple. Your guide deals with camel and souvenir sellers politely and firmly, so you can take your photos in peace. After lunch you continue to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of Djoser and the beautifully carved tombs of the nobles.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 3 – Grand Egyptian Museum & Old Cairo
The morning is spent at the Grand Egyptian Museum, home to the complete treasure of Tutankhamun and the colossal statue of Ramses II in the entrance hall. After lunch you explore Coptic Cairo, with the Hanging Church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, then end the day in Khan el-Khalili. Browsing the bazaar with your guide is far more relaxed than going alone, and she or he can help you bargain fairly for spices, lamps and silver.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 4 – Fly to Luxor & Board Your Nile Cruise
After breakfast your driver takes you to the airport for the short flight to Luxor. Your Luxor guide meets you and you board your 5★ Nile cruise, where your cabin is ready and lunch is served on board. In the afternoon you visit the great temple complex of Karnak, with its Hypostyle Hall of 134 columns, followed by Luxor Temple as the evening lights come on. Dinner is on the ship, moored right in town.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 5 – Valley of the Kings & Sail South
An early start takes you across to the West Bank before the heat builds. At the Valley of the Kings your ticket covers three tombs, with Tutankhamun’s tomb available as an extra. You then visit the terraced Temple of Hatshepsut and stop for photos at the Colossi of Memnon. Back on board for lunch, the ship sets sail south through the lock at Esna, and the afternoon is yours to read, swim or watch village life pass by.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 6 – Edfu & Kom Ombo
In the morning a horse carriage takes you from the quay to the Temple of Horus at Edfu, the best preserved temple in Egypt, with its inner sanctuary still roofed. The ship sails on to Kom Ombo, where you visit the double temple of Sobek and Haroeris in the late afternoon light, along with the small museum of mummified crocodiles next door. Overnight the ship continues upstream to Aswan, the southernmost stop of your trip.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 7 – Aswan, Philae & Felucca Sail
This morning you can take the optional trip to Abu Simbel, a long road journey of about three and a half hours each way, with convoy times set by the authorities. Otherwise you visit the High Dam and take a small boat to the island temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis. In the afternoon you sail around Elephantine Island on a traditional felucca, a quiet and lovely way to end your last full day in Egypt.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8 – Fly to Cairo & Depart
After breakfast you disembark and your driver takes you to Aswan Airport for the flight to Cairo, where our representative meets you and helps you connect with your international flight home. If you would like more time, we can add extra nights in Cairo or a few days on the Red Sea coast to relax, with the same care and support as the rest of your trip. Just let us know before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Egypt safe for women travelling alone?
Many women travel around Egypt on their own and have a wonderful time. The main issue most face is unwanted attention, such as persistent sellers or comments in busy places, rather than danger. With a private guide, a vetted driver and a local contact on WhatsApp, you are rarely on your own in crowded areas, and help is only ever a phone call away.
Can I have a female guide?
Yes. Just ask when you book and we will arrange a female Egyptologist guide wherever one is available. All our guides are licensed Egyptologists who know our standards well. If you are happy with either, we simply match you with the guide we think suits your interests best.
What is the single supplement and is it included?
Hotels and cruise ships price rooms for two people, so a solo traveller pays extra to have a room to herself. That single supplement is already included in our single traveller price, so there is nothing more to add. Friends travelling together and sharing twin rooms pay the lower rate for two or more people.
What should I wear in Egypt?
Loose, light clothing that covers your shoulders and knees is comfortable in the heat and draws less attention in towns and at the sites. Bring a light scarf for mosques and churches, a sun hat and comfortable walking shoes. On the cruise ship and at hotel pools, normal swimwear is completely fine. We send a full packing list before you travel.
How do I pay for the tour?
As this package includes hotels, domestic flights and a Nile cruise, we ask for a deposit when you confirm so we can secure those bookings in your name. The balance is paid on arrival in Egypt. We will send the exact amount and payment details with your confirmation, and you can ask us anything before you commit.
